Job Description
As an Accountant, you will be responsible for handling multi-market accounting tasks, month-end closing, and financial reporting, working closely with both HQ and local finance teams within our Digital Entertainment (Garena) segment.
This role offers cross-market exposure, opportunities to work with automation tools, and involvement in process improvement projects that enhance finance efficiency across the organization.
- Handle multi-entity month-end closing including accounts receivable, accounts payable, fixed assets, and general ledger functions.
- Reconcile discrepancies between the system and finance records, proactively identifying and resolving the differences.
- Prepare monthly financial and management reporting package for internal stakeholders.
- Maintain financial security by adhering to internal controls, accounting standards, and tax requirements.
- Support tax compliance by providing necessary schedules and supporting documents for accurate filings.
- Assist in audit preparation and the preparation of financial statements.
- Assist in standardizing financial processes across multiple markets to improve accuracy and efficiency.
- Communicating with various stakeholders for new initiatives and processes improvement.
- Perform other related ad-hoc duties as assigned.
Job Requirements
- Possess a Bachelor’s degree in accounting or ACCA, CA or its equivalent.
- 2-4 years of working experience in accounting related field, Big 4 accounting firm experience preferred but not a must.
- Strong accounting knowledge.
- Exposure to tax compliance and audit processes.
- Hands-on experience with ERP systems (SAP, Oracle, NetSuite, or similar).
- Hands-on/relevant working experience in a finance operating environment.
- Proficient in Microsoft Excel and good command in English, both written and oral.
- Experience in process automation or finance transformation projects is a plus.
- Strong logic and analytical thinking.
- Strong interpersonal and communication skills with the ability to work well with people across different cultures.
- A team player with good organization skill.
- Positive and result-driven attitude.
- Flexible and bright personality, open to commit in a dynamic environment.
