Civil Design/Project Engineer - Dublin

Civil Design/Project Engineer – Dublin

Join a dynamic and friendly team of engineers and technicians in our Dublin office. Candidates will have a minimum 3+ years’ experience. The ideal candidate should have experience in working to British Standards, familiarity with NPPF, EA, Local Authority guidance and statutory undertakers’ requirements.

Essential Requirements:

    HNC in Civil Engineering (or equivalent qualification).
    Experience in preparing and reviewing civil engineering drawings and reports
    Knowledge and understanding of drainage (including SuDS) and flood risk is a benefit.
    Candidates will have experience using modelling and design software (e.g. AutoCAD, Site 3D, Micro drainage, Causeway Flow etc.).
    Strong communication and interpersonal skills in the English language.
    Keen to develop professionally with the aim of leading projects and growing EirEng.

Desirable Skills and Qualifications:

    Degree in Civil Engineering or equivalent.
    Chartered membership (or working towards it) with a relevant professional body.
    A UK/EEC driving licence.

As a Design Engineer in a relatively small company (30-40 staff split between the Dublin and Bath offices) you will gain ownership and responsibility for projects quickly, but always with the close support of our senior staff. The role will primarily be office based but may ultimately involve some national and international travel (primarily to the EU) as your career progresses. EirEng Consulting Engineers work on projects throughout Ireland, UK, Europe, North America, Asia, & the Middle East.

The successful candidate will be expected to work alongside more senior engineers and technicians in both our Bath and Dublin offices on all stages of the civil engineering design of projects in logistics, residential, retail, and commercial sectors at a wide range of scales. This will include:

    Developing and delivering engineering designs from concept, through to detailed design and construction phases.
    Preparing reports and specifications.
    Using software to develop designs and communicate design principles.
    Working closely with technicians to prepare drawings and other project deliverables.
    Checking and reviewing of engineering designs and deliverables.
    Liaising, collaborating, and coordinating with internal and external project team members and Clients.
    Conducting site visits and surveys, accompanying our senior engineers initially.
    Representing EirEng externally by attending design team and client meetings both in person and remotely.
    Assisting with project management.
