REPORTS TO: Superintendent / PM’S
PRIMARY FUNCTIONS:
Work with Project Managers, Foremen and Technicians to promote a strong culture of safety, quality, efficiency, and excellence on all of our projects while always making sure that projects stay within budget. Make sure you are always setting the example in your speech, body language, appearance, and customer relations so that the field crew understands what they can expect from you and our company on every project we perform. Promote safety at a high level at all times. Review project schedules with Foreman & PMs and assist Foreman with scheduling manpower and work with the PMs to forecast manpower on projects. When applicable, help layout Foreman with PMs assistance. Work with Foremen to find ways to increase margins on projects. Work in conjunction with LEIs Safety Officer as well as our 3rd party safety organization (Smart Safety) on each project by performing safety audits and lead with any safety related investigations or plans. Maintain quality control on projects ensuring Lasers installation standards are met on each and every project. Visit projects that you are given to manage and help maintain schedule and production. Check in with GC to confirm production & schedule of project. Report any issues that come up to the Superintendent / PM’S.
QUALIFICATIONS & TRAINING:
OSHA 30 Hour Training required. NFPA 70E Awareness Training Required. Current First Aid and CPR Certifications required. State of California Electrical License required. All of these required certifications must be kept current. At least 5 years of Foreman level field work required. Computer Programs- proficient with Microsoft Project, Word, Excel, and Outlook and our accounting program.
JOB TURNOVER:
Go over project information with Foreman including blueprints, specs, estimate, budget, subcontracts, safety requirements, badging, etc.
PROJECT DUTIES:
In conjunction with our Safety Team, go over Safety Issues with foreman and give a copy of the Initial Job Safety Analysis Report form to Foreman which will identify any hazards and special circumstances that may come up during project. Go over manpower requirements and schedule with foreman. Make sure weekly Tailgate Safety Meetings are being held and attend them at random. Insure apprentice to journeyman ratios as appropriate for public works projects. Maintain quality control on project. Maintain cleanliness on project with foreman. Take photos of each project visited for company newsletter, project job file, project portfolio, safety, etc. Keep a logbook daily of jobs visited, length of time at job, safety issues, report disciplinary issues, job problems, manpower, job progress, productivity issues, etc. Ensure foremen are providing proper as-builts to customers. Overall, your duty is to be the primary leader and implementer of project safety, quality, and budget adherence and to maintain schedule and production.
MATERIALS:
Work with Foreman to maintain good organization and proper storage of material on each job. Train them to order ahead at least 3-5 days minimum so as to avoid the need for “right now” warehouse deliveries or especially going to the wholesale house. Also make sure that all material is keep as much as possible in areas free from water intrusion and in a secured area to avoid damage to uninstalled equipment.
SAFETY DURING PROJECT:
In conjunction with our Safety Team, maintain company safety rules and regulations on every project. Attend tailgate weekly safety meetings randomly. Foreman shall request any Energized Work Permits through you or their PM. No energized work will be done without a permit. Make sure all PPE is in proper working order at all times and work with Warehouse Manager to do any testing and/or timely scheduled replacement or testing of PPE as required by OSHA and NFPA 70E.
CUSTOMER RELATIONS:
Promptly address customer issues to assure resolution of any problems as they arise. Keep in mind that the customer’s satisfaction is utmost in importance; and positive communication is a key to this goal. Work with PM and Foreman to resolve problems as quickly as possible.
QUALITY CONTROL:
Maintain company Construction install standards on each project. Spot check tasks being done for quality. General foreman has the authority to order field personnel to make corrections to low or poor quality workmanship immediately and as necessary.
