We are seeking a compassionate and dedicated Disability Support Worker to join our team. As a Disability Support Worker, you will provide high-quality care and support to individuals with disabilities, ensuring they are able to live as independently and comfortably as possible. Your role will involve providing personal care, assisting with daily activities, and helping individuals to achieve their personal goals in a safe, respectful, and inclusive environment.
Key Responsibilities:
- Personal Care: Assist individuals with daily living activities such as dressing, grooming, bathing, and eating, while respecting their privacy and dignity..
- Community Access: Support individuals to participate in community activities, social events, and appointments, ensuring they have access to the same opportunities as others.
- Encourage Independence: Promote and assist clients in developing life skills, such as cooking, budgeting, and personal hygiene, to increase their independence.
- Health and Well-being: Monitor and report on the health and well-being of individuals, ensuring that any changes in condition are promptly addressed and communicated.
- Documentation and Reporting: Maintain accurate and up-to-date records of care activities, progress, and any incidents that occur.
- Behavioral Support: Assist individuals with behaviors associated with their disability, applying positive behavior support strategies as required.
Qualifications:
- Experience: Previous experience in disability support, mental health or other relevant sectors.
- Education: A Certificate III or IV in Disability, Aged Care, Community Services or Individual Support is preferred, but not required. CPR and First Aid is require.
- Skills: Strong communication skills, both written and verbal; ability to work independently and as part of a team; excellent problem-solving abilities and a patient, empathetic nature.
Screening requirement:
You are required to have or be willing to obtain the below,
- Current WWCC (Working with Children Clearance)
- National Police Check
- NDIS Screening Clearance
- CPR and First Aid
- Valid Drivers License
- Vehicle with Comprehensive Insurance

Job Type: Casual
Pay: $35.00 – $60.00 per hour
Expected hours: 38 per week
