Full-Time Medical Receptionist

Cascade Cardiology is looking to expand our team with a Full-Time Medical Receptionist. General:

Under general supervision of provider team and Practice Manager, this position is responsible for answering phones, greeting and checking-in, verifying and updating patient and insurance information, electronic filing, scanning, fax distribution, chart delivering, collecting OTC, as well as various other front office duties.

Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Retrieve incoming phones calls, take messages, and return voicemails as needed.
  • Greet, register, instruct, and provide general assistance to patients.
  • Obtain demographic and financial information and enter/scan into computer system.
  • Relay any relevant medical and/or insurance updates/changes to appropriate departments.
  • Collect copay, co-insurance, deductibles and/or past due balances, post into computer system while maintaining and balancing cash drawer.
  • Confirm medical chart is complete, and financial responsibilities is settled before patient leaves.
  • Complete work log daily
  • Retrieve incoming faxes daily, work and distribute as appropriate.
  • Complete electronic filing and scanning daily.
  • Mail Welcome Packets
  • Complete nightly and daily balancing sheets.
  • Maintain/stock beverages and cleanliness of lobby.
  • Additional duties as assigned by Practice Manager.
  • Attend and participate in all monthly staff meetings.

Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:

  • Excellent interpersonal communication, telephone, customer service, organization, and time-management skills are essential.
  • Ability to read, write, speak and understand English. Spanish a plus.
  • Ability to read and write medical terminology.
  • Ability to actively participate in team-oriented processes.
  • Basic computer skills, including familiarity with electronic medical records.
  • Supports and contributes to effective safety and risk management efforts by adhering to established policies and procedures, maintaining a safe environment, promoting accident prevention and identify and report potential liabilities.

Preferred Qualifications:

Education: High school diploma or equivalent

Experience: 1 – 2 years in medical healthcare setting

Software Systems: NextGen, Epic, Microsoft Platform

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: $17.00 - $19.00 per hour

Experience:

  • Customer service: 1 year (Preferred)
  • Medical terminology: 1 year (Preferred)
  • Computer skills: 1 year (Preferred)
