General Accountant

Responsible for the general accounting function

1. Gathers and audits all data required to prepare and disburse the hourly and salary payroll.

2. Maintains and files all payroll records for the purpose of accounting and disbursement control.

3. Audits the hourly job tickets to ensure accurate time recording to the proper inventory or salary accounts that measures work performancePrepare journal entries.

4. Complete general ledger operations.

5. Reconcile and maintain balance sheet accounts.

6. Prepare analysis of accounts as requested.

7. Assist with year end closings.

8. Prepare tax computations and returns.

9. Account/bank reconciliations.

10. Draw up monthly financial reports.

11. Assist with preparation and coordination of the audit process.

Additional Responsibilities:

• Available to perform other tasks as assigned or requested.

Knowledge and Experience:

• Bachelor Degree in Accounting or Finance.

• Five to eight years of experience leading finance and accounting departments.

• Computer proficiency and expertise: including Microsoft Office.

• Good communication, written and verbal, ability to work under pressure.

• Ability to work as a team player.

• Excellent organization skills.

• Two or more years of experience in the same position.
