General Labourer

Responsibilities

- Follow instructions from supervisors to perform manual labor tasks

- Assist tradespeople as needed

- Help with setting up and transferring temporary structures (e.g. scaffolding)

- Handle and transport materials and equipment

- Use power tools and machinery when needed

- Assist in the installation of water and sewer lines, pipes, and related infrastructure.

- Support repair work on broken water mains, sewer lines, manholes, and catch basins.

- Excavate trenches using hand tools or machinery.

- Haul goods from the receiving area

- Clean up worksites from hazardous or obsolete material

- Ability to lift 50 pounds safely and properly

- Adhere to and follow all Occupational, Health and Safety Requirements

- Report issues with equipment or unsafe conditions

- Other duties as required

Qualifications

- Grade 12 education with 1-2 years of related experience. Combination of relevant education and/or experience will be considered

- The ideal candidate will have a good work ethic, good attention to detail, and will follow instructions well

- Class five (5) drivers’ licence
