Glenilen Farm Key Account Manager (Fmcg Sales)

The role will be working alongside the commercial team on specific key account projects as they arise, via opening up new channels of supply, trade presentations, category analysis, data and consumer insights support and general key account and sales management. This will be a remote role based in the Dublin area with travel within the Dublin region and occasional travel to the Cork Office.

Duties and Responsibilities:

· In conjunction with the Commercial Manager, develop and implement a robust sales plan for the company.

· To assist Commercial in developing a strategy and opening up new supply channels across retail, convenience, wholesale, and foodservice

· Develop Key Account Plans for the top accounts and implement Joint Business Plans that are to be reviewed regularly.

· Working the territory in a targeted approach with regular visits to customers, efficient journey planning, presentation planning and reporting.

· Proactively seek out new business opportunities, including possible growth areas, emerging channels and industry trends.

· Monitor customer and product sales and category performance and report for weekly, monthly and quarterly Management meetings

· Work closely with Customer Services to make sure customer queries and complaints are closed out in a timely manner.

· Build strong and sustainable customer relationships.

· Work closely with all internal stakeholders.

· To ensure that all new products are presented to the trade and in line with customer range reviews/ range change dates

· To be Glenilen Farm’s liaison and primary contact with the Independent customer base

· To ensure the business is at the forefront of innovation and aware of new competitor launches and current food trends.

· To maintain an up-to-date knowledge of the food retailing market, . via trade press, food magazines & competitor shopping, to ensure development of cutting edge & market leading products.)

· To have a strong awareness of consumer trends – work closely with marketing to improve customer insight.

· Attend internal & external Buyer Meetings, taste panels etc when required

Qualifications & Experience:

This role is for you if you are results-driven, energetic, self-motivated & persistent, with a strong work ethic and have track record of delivering and exceeding sales targets. The ideal candidate will also have the following:

· A minimum of 3 years’ experience in a similar role selling food products in the FMCG arena.

· A proven track record in selling, with knowledge and established relationships in the sector

· Excellent communication and interpersonal skills and a proven ability to establish, develop and maintain long-term relationships with customers and stakeholders.

· Bachelor’s degree in Business, Marketing or similar related field desirable

· Excellent managerial skills – planning, leading, and organising

· Ability to review numerical data – ideally some data analysis experience

· Ability to prioritise high impact activities and multi-task complex projects and deliver results.

· Strong problem identification and objection resolution skills.

· Evidence of tenacity and the ability to follow through on commitment.

· Flexibility with regard to working hours and national travel is a requirement.

· Exposure to developing relationship with clients and creating new business.

· Ability to understand the technical aspects of food production and packaging specifications

· Good organisation and time management skills - ability to organise your work to maximise effectiveness and efficiency

· Good computing skills, including some experience of using Excel and Word.

Skills, Abilities, Interests:

· Excellent communication/ interpersonal skills, both verbal and written, including strong presentation and influencing skills.

· A love of food

· Creative thinker, with an ability to use both data and intuition to inform decisions.

· Proficient in Microsoft Packages e.g. Excel and external customer order portals

· Not afraid to take responsibility with a ‘can do’, problem solving attitude

Additional Requirements:

· Confidentiality in relation to Company trade secrets

Job Types:

8-Month Fixed-Term Contract- with a view of role becoming permanent
