About this job
You will be teaching at the Academy for Hotel & Facility Management (AHF) where you will share your specialist skills and knowledge with students. This includes developing specific courses as well as coaching and supervising students individually or in groups during graduation projects and/or placements. One of the objectives is to strengthen national and international relations with interesting industry partners. You will build on your existing network, and you will represent our academy in industry. These connections are essential in keeping the knowledge requirements within our field of work up to date. You can translate and execute these requirements into specific projects and assignments for our students. In addition, you will contribute to the development of the curriculum as well as the further digitalisation of the programmes. In this position, you get the opportunity to guide and support smart and highly committed young people on their journey to becoming the next generation of Hospitality and Facility professionals.
Your main responsibility will be teaching and coaching our students. You have creative and fresh ideas on how to share your knowledge and experience. With your help, students can develop themselves into young professionals. You have worked in multiple jobs in the hospitality industry and are able to share the tricks of the trade and applying this within Hospitality education. Topics you might be familiar with are entrepreneurship, design thinking & experience design, business development, revenue & demand management, business intelligence, strategy development and/or organisational behavior and cultural diversity. You will also coach students during international placements and graduation assignments. Leading by example, guest centricity, and having a healthy dose of Hospitality in your DNA is of great importance for motivating the future generation. You have a service minded mindset, and breath hospitality and/or facility.
What do we offer?
- The salary for this position amounts to a monthly minimum of €4,535.76 and a monthly maximum of €6,359.47 (gross amounts based on full-time employment);
- This position is classified in scale 11 of the cao-hbo (collective labour agreement). Your official job title will be Lecturer;
- This position involves a one-year employment contract with the possibility of conversion into an indefinite employment contract;
- Your commuting expenses will be fully reimbursed when you travel by public transport;
- You will receive a contribution towards your health insurance costs;
- You will receive an end-of-year bonus of 8.3% in December and an annual holiday allowance of 8% in May;
- You will also be awarded professional development hours every year and almost 11 weeks of holiday entitlements in a full-time position;
- You have the option to work partly from home, which can help improve your work-life balance;
- You will build an attractive pension through the ABP pension fund;

What do we ask of you?
- You are passionate about your work and would like to share this passion with others. You have creative and fresh ideas on how to share this information and knowledge;
- You have teaching experience within higher or university education or are willing to obtain didactics certificate;
- You know the tricks of the trade, which can be seen from your broad knowledge and vast experience of Hospitality and/or Facility management;
- You have recent and up-to-date experience from multiple roles and jobs within the Hotel and/or Facility Management industry;
- Interest in data and quantitative research is a plus;
- You have a broad and international network which enables you to stay connected with the field and keeps you up to speed with developments;
- You have a relevant master’s degree or are willing to obtain one;
- You will be working in an international and intercultural setting. Therefore, having excellent verbal and written communication skills in English is a necessity;

We will then agree on a joint development path, in which you will eventually be given the tasks, responsibilities and powers that match the job in question.
