The Job Overview

VIP Health, Wellness & Recovery is looking for a PRN medical receptionist. The Receptionist is a fundamental part of the office, to perform many vital duties to ensure that the office runs smoothly, and its professionals are supported. Common duties that the Receptionist may perform include greeting clients, sending and receiving office correspondence and setting appointments.

Responsibilities

Below are some of the responsibilities the Receptionist is expected to assume in their position:

  • Welcoming office guests and directing them to the person or office they are visiting
  • Intake of patients: checking in and out of patients, collecting payments, collecting insurance information, interring information into electronic medical record system, making appoints
  • Answering phones and making phone calls on behalf of office employees
  • Forwarding phone calls to appropriate recipients
  • Sending and replying to office emails
  • Scheduling appointments and meetings for employees and coordinating with clients regarding the meetings
  • Keeping office records up to date and scanning patients notes into electronic medical record system
  • Sending and receiving mail and other correspondence
  • Performing various other clerical tasks including faxing and filing
  • General cleaning of office, dusting, vacuuming, and cleaning bathrooms
  • Other duties as assigned

Job Qualifications and Skill Set

  • Education and/or experience: Receptionist to have a high school diploma or its equivalent at a minimum with some level of higher education, such as a vocational or college degree in administration or a related field with a healthcare emphasis preferred.
  • Language Skills: Ability to effectively present information and respond to questions from groups of managers, patient, customers, and the general public. Ability to demonstrate clear oral and written communication.
  • Reasoning Ability: Ability to interpret a variety of instructions furnished in written, oral, diagram, or schedule form.
  • Mathematical Skills: Ability to utilize basic mathematical skills as needed
  • Certificates, Licenses, Registration: None
  • Work Environment: The work environment characteristics described here are representative of those an employee encounters while performing the essential functions of this job.
  • Strong organizational, interpersonal, verbal, and written communication skills
  • Detail-oriented and able to prioritize
  • The ability to meet deadlines
  • Customer service skills
  • Excellent data entry skills
  • Able to work independently and as part of a team
  • Self-starter
  • Three or more years of experience

Salary Expectations

PRN (As needed) Medical Receptionist

Range: $14 – $15.50 per hour

Pay: $14.00 - $15.50 per hour

Schedule:

  • Monday to Friday

Work Location: In person
