POSITION SUMMARY:

The Quality Technician performs functions associated with quality control and quality assurance operations, including working with engineers in set-up and calibration tasks and carrying out rework and quality assurance procedures related to production or operations. Uses sophisticated programs to collect and evaluate data to assist in assessing and documenting results of quality assurance and control processes. Determines and may assist in developing methods and procedures for quality assurance and control. Works with engineers in conducting experiments, and to ensure the documented manufacturing procedures are implemented, maintained and well monitored. To achieve that goal, it may need to involve in some failure analysis, quality improvement projects and statistical data analysis work.

REQUIRED:

· Intermediate knowledge of spreadsheet and word processing software (e.g. Microsoft Word, Excel, Power Point). · Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals. Ability to write routine reports and correspondence.

PHYSICAL DEMANDS: The physical demands described here are representative of those that must be met by an employee to successfully perform the essential functions of this job. Reasonable accommodations may be made to enable individuals with disabilities to perform the essential functions. Standing or walking over two-thirds of the time. Perform manual processing of wafers using chemicals to clean and etch wafers requiring frequent use of arm and wrist movements. May be required to use microscopes for long periods of time to perform wafer and die level inspections.

Works in wafer fabrication and clean room environment, requiring clean room gowning (smock, hood, gloves, booties, etc.) Exposure to moderate noise levels. Exposure to stored energy hazards (electricity, compressed gases, etc.) May be required to use microscopes for extended periods of time. Exposure to chemicals needed for processing wafers- such as alcohol, acetone, acids, solvents and photo resist. Works in a facility that houses hazardous chemicals.
