- To implement and manage project related to Urban Rail Signalling in accordance with contractual requirements and company processes. Furthermore, to be charged with overall performance/schedule compliance, cash flow and budget of the project while ensuring quality and safety standards are maintained.
- To strategically manage client’s expectations and wants with respective to what is achievable within HItachi Rail GTS' overall business.
- To lead the team to create an appropriately detailed schedule and then use that schedule and critical path to manage the execution of the project.
- To evaluate the need for “out of scope” work in-light of strategic project additional opportunities. Enforcing policies and procedures to ensure no unauthorized work is being conducted.
- To be able to evaluate and report on project “Estimates to Complete” in accordance with company practices thus providing clarity on cost exposures and future labour needs.
- To possess an ability to review and input into the project Risk register. Once risks are established, to be accountable for decisions on expenditures of mitigation actions to support the most advantageous option for the company and project’s benefit and success.
- To display strong communications skills ensuring clarity with senior management, the client and the project team.
- To lead and challenge the project team globally (i.e. disciplines, interfacing contractors, key suppliers & subcontractors, intragroup project teams) to exceed the execution baseline on the merit of critical path and cost competitiveness
- To achieve coherent execution plan for several interrelated contracts, with prioritization and conflict resolution, seek out execution synergy, anticipate and proactively close out potential issues
- Management of Complex Bid
- Ensure a consistent bid management process
- Ensure understanding of client’s RFP/tender objective, customer’s pain points and Hitachi Rail GTS' competitive advantage
- Manage communications between internal stakeholders and customers on matters pertaining to the bid (e.g. tender clarifications, corrigendum, cost + price review, etc)
- Manage the creation of the bid deliverables and ensuring review and governance, leading to the creation of a high quality proposal
- Assist Sales/ BD forces in Qualifying Opportunities
- Actively participate in defining and then implementing winning strategies and capture plans
- Manage Bid Budget spending by bid resources and support functions
- Degree or Diploma from either a Business or Technical/Engineering background
- 5-10+ years in railway transportation industry or from Technical/Engineering field
- 5-10+ years as a Project Manager with People Management / Leadership experience
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills
- Excellent attention to detail, ability to execute according to plan and deliver measurable results in a timely manner.
- Excellent organizational, analytical, and problem-solving skills. Lead by example, build and manage a strong team.
- Being able to make it happen: think strategically, translate ideas to impact, actively coaching a multidisciplinary team
