Mount Isa Mines are currently seeking multiple skilled and experienced Special Servicepersons, in the Fill & Services Department at George Fisher Mine. This position is residentially based in Mt Isa.

The Role
We are looking for experienced and skilled individuals to join us in the roles of a Special Serviceperson within the Fill & Services Department. Reporting to the Fill & Services Supervisor, you will be required to install or repair mine services including vent ducting, 2” and 4’’ poly and also be able to construct bulkheads, install paste fill pipes and fans. Extensive experience in underground services installation and operating a Volvo and/or Caterpillar Integrated Tool Carrier is required. Experience in underground construction, Paste Fill, Hand-held Drilling and Normet Operations is highly desirable. The roster for this role is on a 7 on 7 off day and night continuous shift.

Successful candidate will be responsible for:
    • Installation and ongoing repair and maintenance of underground vent, air, water and drain reticulation systems
    • Assisting construction crews as required
    • Engaging with a number of department stakeholders to ensure tasks are completed safely and efficiently

The successful candidate will possess:
    • Current Australian Drivers Licence
    • Minimum of 2 years underground serviceperson experience
    • Hard working, reliable and able to work unsupervised
    • Strong focus on completing the job safely, efficiently and to a high standard
    • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
    • Excellent trouble-shooting & problem solving skills
    • Flexible approach and adaptable to change with a high attention to detail
    • Good time management skills and able to work well under pressure
    • Demonstrated ability to work well in a team environment
