Student Internship

Okane’s Internship Program is a 12-week paid employment from March – June 2025, available in both our Brisbane and Perth offices. This program will provide you the opportunity to get involved with Okane’s leading mine closure consulting services through our integrated life of mine approach.


You will..

  • Gain hands on experience on industry leading mine closure and rehabilitation projections tailored to the area of your study.
  • Build your network with a global team of diverse technical and mine closure specialists.
  • Be supported and mentored by our team of technical specialists.
  • Gain exposure to the mine closure and resources sector early in your career.

Our Next Student Intern

We are looking for students from their second to penultimate year in one of the following disciplines (or similar):

  • Mining Engineering
  • Environmental Engineering
  • Geotechnical Engineering
  • Civil Engineering
  • Geology
  • Geochemistry
  • Ecology
  • Hydrogeology
  • Environmental Management

You will need to be able to work 1-2 days per week, for 12 weeks, from March – June 2025.


If you choose, you may use this internship to complete your placement hours for your Work Integrated Learning requirement. You will need to gain approval from your university directly if wish to use this internship hours towards your academic credit. Okane will endeavour to provide flexibility with hours and placement requirements where appropriate.
