PRIMARY PURPOSE AND FUNCTION

Supervises daily activities of the warehouse to ensure safe and efficient storage and retrieval of products. Oversees an organization’s supply chain, managing warehouse, transportation, and customer service while interfacing with manufacturing, vendors, suppliers, and customers.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS AND RESPONSIBILITIES

• Plans warehouse work operations in accordance with shipments, received, store orders, perish- ability, and stock rotation requirements
• Oversees freezer and cooler maintenance and repair
• Schedules and assigns warehouse crew and equipment to meet schedules to handle daily volume
  efficiently.
• Operates and performs preventive maintenance on forklift, truck, and/or equipment.
• Ability to coach, train, and lead work teams to achieve performance as it relates to specialization
  in receiving, processing, storage, order assembly, or loading.
• Ensures adherence to Company policies, procedures, and practices.
• Designs, monitors, and maintains a safe work environment through compliance of safety programs such as FDA compliance check
• Involves in and recommends hiring, promotion, terminations, performance management, and
  labor standards.
• Cultivates a positive and innovative work environment.
• Oversees the loading and unloading of trucks from the loading dock and has a working knowledge of equipment used to move and store packages and an ability to operate such
  equipment
• Interfaces with customers in a professional and friendly manner to solve problems and answer
  questions.
• Proper attire is required for specific job functions
• Oversees trucking rental agreement and public cold storage management
• Manages company alarm systems and pest control maintenance
• Oversees worker's comp and auto insurance claims and policies
• Oversees logistics and import activities in the warehouse
• Oversees inventory management for local warehouse
• Responsible for overseeing the receipt, storage, and distribution of our seafood products while
  maintaining the highest standards of quality, safety, and efficiency, including implementing
  scanning projects and FIFO management.
• Manages our driver and truck fleet to ensure on-time deliveries such as optimizing transportation
  routes to minimize costs and delivery times, monitoring delivery schedules and resolving any
  issues of delays, managing a team of drivers and truck fleets, including recruitment and
  performance evaluations, etc.

KNOWLEDGE AND SKILL

• College degree preferred
• Five years experience in warehouse operations or logistics with 3 years in a supervisory capacity.
• Knowledgeable in material handling, purchasing, and stock control
• Strong customer service, communication, organizational, analytical, supervisory, and leadership
  skills
• Ability to build strong working relationships and experience holding employees accountable for working safely and ensuring a safe work environment.
• Ability to analyze cost performance data to improve operations and reduce costs.
• Strong interpersonal, communication, and team-building skills.
• OSHA certified
• Forklift certified
• HACCP certified

PHYSICAL DEMANDS

• A warehouse environment is subject to exposure to extreme temperature changes, moisture, noise, odors, and moving equipment
• May be required to move heavy items, running forklifts, pallet jacks, or other equipment on occasion, must be able to lift, push, pull, and/or carry up to 75lbs
• May required to help perform other physical activities such as moving pallets, sorting products, loading trucks, reaching, standing for long periods of time, bending repetitive arm movements or climbing
• Flexibility to adapt to all situations and work varied hours; possibly work weekends or evenings
