2024 Summer Intern – Digital Transformation – Digital Experience

Job Description

Work Arrangement:

  • Hybrid : This position does not require an employee to be onsite full-time to perform most effectively. The employee’s role enables them to work at a GM facility or off-site as frequently as needed or desired.

The Digital Transformation Team

The Digital Transformation Team within Global Business Solutions is passionate about enabling digital solutions that empower our business partners to derive immediate value from innovative tools and technology. Our objective is to connect the business to underlying data assets & tools for analytics, predictive modeling, and automation to generate business value and efficiency. We develop customer centric solutions for our strategic partners based on need, complexity, and process maturity. We also upskill our workforce to leverage the latest digital tools to drive efficiencies in their daily activities. Further, we collaborate with our global service centers to scale our impact.

As a Member of the Team, You Will

  • Collaborate with various partners across different business functions to identify, understand, and document business processes
  • Facilitate workshops to capture business and IT partner objectives, pain-points, and opportunities, translating them into world class processes and technology enablers
  • Understand project pain points and scope of work to deliver solutions leveraging UX skills and teammates
  • Develop process improvement, system implementation, and project management skills
  • Contribute to global transformational projects, working closely with business subject matter experts

Additional Job Description

Basic Qualifications

  • Pursuit of a Bachelor’s degree in one of the following areas: Instructional Design, UX Design, Visual and Graphic Design, Computer Science with emphasis on Design, Industrial Design, Information Systems with emphasis on Design, or similar
  • Must be graduating between December 2024 and June 2025
  • Able to work fulltime, 40 hours per week during the summer months

  • Positive attitude and strong interpersonal skills. A collaborative team player who learns quickly and can act independently
  • Ability to work with people within and outside the group, including cross-functional partners
  • Be able to empathize, define, ideate, prototype and test with various business stakeholders
  • Exposure to UX processes, Design Thinking, Persona Mapping recommended

Student Stipend:

GM will provide a one-time lump sum taxable stipend payment to each student selected for the 2024 Student Program

Pay Transparency:

The salary range for this role is $4,400-$4,900 per month, dependent upon class status and degree.
