About the Centre/Service

Established in 1978, Wonnai Preschool is a high quality, boutique, community-minded kindergarten in Langwarrin, we are proud to have provided over 40 years of quality care and education. This long history has seen us regularly have parents who attended the service themselves as children, returning years later with their own children. Our kinder is committed to ongoing development and is constantly refreshing the excellent facilities and equipment. This ensures children have a range of state-of-the-art equipment and materials that promote play and encourage their inquisitiveness. Wonnai preschool is run by a Committee of Management comprised of parent volunteers and is experienced in delivering one three year old group and two government funded four year old groups. As a boutique kindergarten, Wonnai Preschool is able to offer each group of children exclusive access to the centre, allowing them to take full advantage of our excellent facilities and expansive outdoor play area. Wonnai Preschool values play-based learning and provides a caring environment where our educators are able to focus on the unique learning needs of each child, our services are rated by ACECQA as ‘Exceeding the National Quality Standards’. Under the guidance of our professional and friendly teachers, the children are engaged in a dynamic array of indoor and outdoor activities, including stories, drama, dance and movement, puzzles, craft and painting, sports, gardening and so much more. Our families work in partnership with teachers to ensure the kinder year is a positive learning experience that nurtures each child. Wonnai Preschool maintains strong connections with the local community including schools, community service organisations and local businesses. At Wonnai Preschool our staff employ a collaborative approach to program development and implementation guided by our Educational Leader & Nominated Supervisor. Our staff are passionate about their roles and strive to create a warm and friendly atmosphere for children and their families. Our programs are developed around the principles set out in the Victorian Early Years Learning & Development Framework, with each of our teaching team bringing their unique talents and interests to the various sessions.

Description

Primary role Qualified Early Childhood Educator – work with our teacher and other educators to support the delivery of our 4-year-old kindergarten program, including supporting the emotional, social, physical and educational development of amazing children. Position type Part-time Workdays: Monday 11am - 1pm, Tuesday 9am – 5pm, Wednesday 11am – 1pm, Thursday 7:30am – 2pm, Friday 7:30am – 2pm Hours per week: 25 hours per week Sessions: Tuesday 11:30am – 4:30pm, Thursday 8am – 1pm, Friday 8am – 1pm. Lunch relief cover in second 4yr old kinder group: Monday and Wednesday 11am-1pm. Qualifications The successful applicant must have a minimum Certificate III in Early Childhood Education and Care and Working with Children Check. Current CPR, Anaphylaxis and Asthma Training and a current First Aid Certificate are required. Food Safety/ handling certificate is also required. Experience: Knowledge of EYLDF/VEYLDF, CSS (Child Safe Standards) Requirements WWCC Industrial Agreement/Award Victorian Early Childhood Teachers and Educators Agreement 2020 (VECTEA) Please note: Applications will be reviewed as they are received, and interviews arranged accordingly. Qualifications

The successful applicant must have a minimum Certificate III in Early Childhood Education and Care and Working with Children Check. Current CPR, Anaphylaxis and Asthma Training and a current First Aid Certificate are required. Food Safety/ handling certificate is also required.
