Accountant

Description:

Job Responsibilities:

Accountant is responsible for monitoring accounting system, reviewing and adjusting accounts,

preparing financial statements, preparing payroll and related reports, compiling data and completing

periodic tax and reporting returns, and assisting CFO as needed.

Duties Include, but are not limited to:

Review general ledger accounts, create and post general journal entries

Compile financial statements and supporting documents

Complete and file necessary monthly, quarterly, annual tax returns and reports

Reconcile bank accounts

Perform payroll duties and related reporting

Analyze the financial details of past, present and expected operations to identify development and improvement opportunities

Review and analyze customer accounts, aid in approving/denying credit transactions, and contact them on overdue items

Complete and record bank deposits

Pick up mail at post office and sort

Act as backup for accounts payable function

Act as backup for accounts receivable function

Constantly work on methods to improve efficiency and productivity

Assist CFO as needed

Attend meetings and training

Perform other duties as assigned

Requirements:

Education and Experience:

Two or Four-year degree required

Understanding of bookkeeping and financial statements

Skills Required:

Very detail-oriented and analytical with problem-solving skills

Knowledge of basic accounting principles, functions, and general ledger knowledge

Working knowledge of the daily operations of a business

Professional appearance and manner

Computer proficiency

MS Excel, Google Docs/Sheets

Good communication skills

Good planning and organizational skills

Able to multitask, prioritize, and manage time efficiently

Dependable, good work ethic and attitude

Desire to learn

Safety minded

Ability to maintain confidentiality

Physical Requirements/Work Environment:

Must be able to sit for long periods of time in an office chair

Must work in an office environment

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: $52,925.89 - $75,000.00 per year
