OSM Aviation Academy – Fayetteville (Drake Field)
OSM Aviation Academy is expanding its U.S. operations and establishing a new large-scale flight training base at Drake Field (KFYV) in Fayetteville, Northwest Arkansas. As part of this growth, we are now looking for a full-time Accountant to join our team and be part of the start-up.
This is a unique opportunity to join a greenfield start-up base within an established, international flight training organization with long-term ambitions in the U.S. market.
About OSM Aviation Academy
OSM Aviation Academy is one of Europe’s largest professional pilot training organizations, operating a multi-base training platform across Europe and the United States. We train several hundred students annually and operate a growing, standardized fleet of modern training aircraft and simulators designed for high-utilization professional training environments.
The Academy is in an active investment phase, with significant capital committed to fleet renewal, aircraft standardisation, and simulator capacity. Our fleet strategy is centered on modern, efficient training aircraft based on the Tecnam and Diamond platforms, combined with an expanding simulator footprint to support structured, airline-oriented training programs as well as tailored Airline Solutions.
OSM Aviation Academy is executing a clear growth strategy to build a scalable training platform in the United States, expanding from our established base at Fort Lauderdale Executive (FXE) to Northwest Arkansas. The U.S. operation is being built with a strong focus on technical robustness, predictable aircraft availability, and long-term sustainability.
Role Overview
This role will be responsible for day-to-day accounting activities, financial reporting, reconciliations, and supporting the overall finance function, reporting to CFO. This role requires strong analytical skills, accuracy, and the ability to work independently in a dynamic environment.
Key Responsibilities
- Manage accounts payable and accounts receivable processes
- Prepare journal entries and maintain the general ledger
- Perform monthly, quarterly, and year-end close activities
- Reconcile bank accounts and balance sheet accounts
- Assist with preparation of financial statements and management reports
- Support budgeting, forecasting, and cash flow reporting
- Ensure compliance with internal controls, company policies, and accounting standards
- Assist with external audits and provide requested documentation
- Maintain accurate financial records and supporting documentation
- Identify process improvements and support efficiency initiatives
- Support finance projects and cross-functional initiatives across the organization
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field
- Minimum 2–3 years of accounting experience preferred
- Strong understanding of accounting principles and financial reporting
- Experience with accounting systems / ERP software
- Proficient in Microsoft Excel
- Strong attention to detail and high level of accuracy
- Excellent organizational and time-management skills
- Strong communication skills
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team
- Ability to manage multiple priorities and meet deadlines
Preferred Qualifications
- CPA certification or progress toward CPA is a plus
- Experience in a multi-entity or international business environment
- Experience with payroll, sales tax, or audit support
