The Opportunity:

As an Accountant, you will support the Senior Manager, Inventory with various tasks related to inventory management. The role will have a strong focus on being involved with accounting for the month-end and quarter-end close process, including preparing journal entries and reconciliations in accordance with GAAP.

Alongside inventory, the role will also support the Loyalty team with their Beauty Insider initiatives, including reviewing the financial impacts of BI redemptions and variance analysis.

In addition, this role will work directly with the distribution centers (DCs) to assist with manual inventory corrections/adjustments related to RTVs and inbound/outbound shipments to ensure inventory accuracy and margin. On the retail side, the role will be the point of contact for stores through Service Now/HLOL to answer service tickets opened by stores related to shipment discrepancies and adjust their on-hand inventory correctly. The role will also support the team effort of reconciling store physical inventories, including reviewing recounts and making necessary adjustments within the system to support the department goal of posting shrinkage to the financials in a timely manner.

The role will also support the Senior Manager with identifying and driving efficiencies within existing internal processes to streamline workload for both FSC (Corporate Office) and DCs.

In addition, you will...

• Preparing monthly and quarterly journal entries and reconciliations to maintain the accuracy of the general ledger including inventory and accruals in accordance with GAAP

• Research and resolve inventory and cost of goods sold (COGS) issues to maintain margin accuracy

• Support Loyalty team with Beauty Insider (BI) projects, including cost review, PO creation and recording monthly redemptions in the financials

• Process manual inventory transfer transactions within inventory system (RTV, receiving, outbound)

• Complete reconciliation of store physical inventories including reviewing recounts and making necessary system adjustments

• Resolve outbound discrepancy issues from retail stores within HLOL in a timely manner in line with department KPIs

• Support Sr. Manager with optimization and driving efficiencies with manual processes within FSC and DC

• Ensure compliance with accounting policies, internal controls, and external audit requirements regarding inventory and cost of goods sold.

• Assist with annual audit including pulling support, creating lead sheets, and answering auditor questions

We'd love to hear from you if you have...

• 2+ years Inventory and/or General Ledger Accounting experience

• Strong computer skills, especially Microsoft Office and intermediate Excel formulas (VLOOKUP, Pivot table etc.)

• Ability to pick up responsibilities quickly and work with limited directions

• Excellent interpersonal skills – able to work effectively within Finance and other Business Partners

• Exposure and proficiency with SAP/S4 Hana preferred

• Quick learner with new systems

• Strong organizational skills and ability to multitask

The annual base salary range for this position is $99,790.00 - $111,530.00 The actual base salary offered depends on a variety of factors, which may include, as applicable, the applicant’s qualifications for the position; years of relevant experience; specific and unique skills; level of education attained; certifications or other professional licenses held; other legitimate, non-discriminatory business factors specific to the position; and the geographic location in which the applicant lives and/or from which they will perform the job. Individuals employed in this position may also be eligible to earn bonuses.
