Duties Performed:
- Post incoming checks, bank wires, and download electronic funds transfers (EFT) for ACH Debit and ACH Credit transactions to the appropriate receipt type codes, such as for report remittances, penalties, interest, dividends, corporate actions, mutual funds, stock certificates, and sales of securities receipts to the unclaimed property system. Verify daily receipt batches and prepare the daily check deposits to the bank through the Remote Deposit online process (login FI$Cal to prepare deposit slips and login bank's portal to scan checks to deposit with the bank).
- Record the daily checks, cash, bank wires, and EFT transactions on the Deposit Control Log by receipt type. Prepare the Deposit Control Log for monthly reconciliation and annual financial reporting purposes for the Unit, the Unclaimed Property Division and Departmental Accounting Office. Verify the safe deposit box cash deposits along with the Safe Deposit Unit (SDU) staff, prepare the deposit, and process the SDU cash deposit to the bank.
- Research and respond to correspondence related to the report remittance via cash, checks and EFT. Assist holders to create and approve different types of EFT accounts.
- Facilitate in maintaining the physical certificates inventory. Review physical certificates and compare them to the Master Certificate list and unclaimed property system. Identify discrepancies and work with the lead analyst on the final resolution of those discrepancies.
- Facilitate in researching accounts and special accounting projects; provide electronic information that displays the information obtained from the research. Prepare general correspondence related to accounting functions. Post weekly workload to weekly accomplishment report. Learn and provide support for the Settlement functions (Pay approved claims through the unclaimed property system settlement batch daily).

Working Conditions
This position is located in Rancho Cordova on White Rock Road, between Mather Field Road and Zinfandel Drive just off US 50 offering free parking is situated in the family-friendly suburbs of Sacramento. There is an abundance of nearby shopping centers and dining options with public transportation accessible nearby via Sacramento Regional Transit’s bus and light rail systems.
This position is eligible for hybrid telework under California Government Code Section 14200 for eligible applicants residing in California. All telework schedules are subject to change and may be reevaluated at any time. Specific telework arrangements may be discussed in more detail with the respective hiring manager. Telework does not change the terms and conditions of employment, the essential functions of job duties, or required compliance with the State Controller's Office policies.
