Accounting Manager

Position: Accounting Manager
Location: The Row, Mandalagan, Bacolod City

The Accounting Manager will lead and oversee the daily operations of the accounting department, ensuring accuracy in financial reporting, compliance with regulatory standards, and efficient internal controls. This role will play a critical part in budgeting, audits, and financial planning to support the operational and strategic goals of Negros Electric and Power Corporation.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Manage and supervise the accounting team in areas including general ledger, accounts payable/receivable, fixed assets, and payroll.
  • Prepare monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements in compliance with Philippine Financial Reporting Standards (PFRS).
  • Ensure timely and accurate financial reporting to management, stakeholders, and regulatory bodies (e.g., ERC, BIR, SEC).
  • Lead the budgeting and forecasting processes; monitor financial performance against budgets.
  • Oversee tax compliance and filing (VAT, withholding, income tax) and liaise with external auditors and tax agencies.
  • Implement and maintain robust internal controls to safeguard company assets and ensure compliance with audit and corporate governance requirements.
  • Analyze financial data and provide insights to support strategic decision-making.
  • Manage accounting systems and coordinate improvements or upgrades in coordination with IT, if necessary.
  • Maintain accurate and up-to-date documentation of accounting policies and procedures.
  • Support special projects and initiatives related to cost control, revenue assurance, and operational efficiency.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree in Accountancy; CPA license required
  • Minimum of 5 years of progressive accounting experience, with at least 2 years in a supervisory or managerial role
  • Strong knowledge of Philippine tax laws, PFRS, and regulatory requirements in the utilities or energy sector is a plus
  • Proficient in accounting software (e.g., SAP, QuickBooks, or other ERP systems)
  • Excellent leadership, analytical, and communication skills
  • High level of integrity and attention to detail

  • Collaborative mindset and experience working cross-functionally with other departments
