About the Internship
As an Actuarial Analyst Intern, you will work within the Ireland Optum Advisory (OA) team. Joining our team, you’ll become part of a driven, focused group that prides itself on continuously improving business results. As a trusted subject matter expert tasked with incorporating traditional expertise into innovative, cutting-edge actuarial/analytic solutions, you’ll find your performance recognized and rewarded in an environment that provides clear direction for success.
You will encounter great opportunities to enhance and develop your skills through some or all the following activities:
- Initiating, compiling and preparing analytical models, tools and databases
- Assisting in the development of actuarial data architecture and assumption setting
- Conducting and documenting moderately complex analysis and research
- Preparing, forecasting, and analyzing trends
- Providing detailed summaries, reports and recommendations to assist managerial decision making
- Maintaining the necessary communication and coordination with colleagues, stakeholders, and clients in multiple locations
Required Qualifications/Skills:
- Ability to quickly learn and use computer software tools effectively
- Exposure to one or more of the following tools: Excel, R, Python or SQL
- Good communication skills
- The ability to work a portion of monthly work hours from our Dublin or Letterkenny office is required
