Role? Android Developer to join our Advertising APPS team to build top-notch advertising experiences on Android that millions of users rely on.
Tech stack? Multi-flavor, complex codebase, written mostly in Kotlin & Jetpack Compose, with some legacy still in Java and XML. Fully supported design system and CI integration using GitHub Actions. Automated release management. We strive for clean, testable, and maintainable code. We always welcome testing out new interesting tech.

WHO ARE YOU?

• You have senior and versatile experience in Android development with solid experience shipping and maintaining Android apps at scale.
• Experience with Java, Kotlin, Jetpack Compose, Coroutines & DI
• Comfortable with CI/CD practices, especially integrating code with tools like GitHub/BitRise, etc.
• Interested in the business impact of your work, especially how advertising can be more effective and valuable for users and the company.
• A collaborative and inclusive player who enjoys working with developers, designers, and product managers across countries and disciplines, comfortable navigating tradeoffs in product development, balancing quality, speed, and impact.
• Fluent in English, our shared language across markets and teams.
• As a person, you’re a creative thinker and a self-starter, not just someone who executes, but someone who actively seeks new ways to improve and make things better.

WHAT’S THE JOB LIKE?

As our new Android Developer, you are joining the APPS team in the Advertising domain. Our team's goal is to build and maintain ad experiences in native mobile apps across several top Nordic marketplaces. We’re improving how we approach advertising on mobile, both technically and from a user experience angle. It’s a mix of legacy and greenfield. Your challenge is to help evolve our setup while keeping things stable, and your opportunity is to influence foundational decisions and shape the future of advertising at Vend.

• Your focus is on crafting, refining, and evolving how ads appear and perform in our native Android apps used daily by millions of people in the Nordics.
• You build and improve how advertising is experienced by users and advertisers on Android, working closely with designers, product managers, and engineers from other disciplines.
• You contribute to and work cross-functionally on new ad features, SDK integrations, A/B tests, and platform improvements, and think creatively about what mobile advertising could look like in the future. Whether you're building shared ad modules, integrating Google Ad Manager, or experimenting with A/B tests to validate hypotheses, you're always looking for ways to improve both performance and the overall experience.
• You work closely with backend, product, and analytics teams, and you often sync with iOS and web colleagues to ensure a cohesive experience across platforms.
