We are seeking a detail-oriented Assistant Accommodation Manager to support the effective running of the Accommodation Department. Working closely with the Accommodation Manager and all hotel departments, this role plays a key part in maintaining the high standards of cleanliness, presentation, and guest satisfaction for which the hotel is renowned. This position offers an excellent opportunity to further develop leadership skills within a luxury hospitality environment.
RESPONSIBILITIES & DUTIES
Support the Accommodation Manager in maintaining the highest standards of cleanliness and organisation across guest rooms, public areas and self-catering properties.
Assist with the daily delegation of tasks to the housekeeping team, ensuring workloads are balanced and duties are completed efficiently.
Carry out regular room and area inspections to ensure standards are consistently met and exceeded.
Participate in and support effective handover briefings at the start of each shift, ensuring awareness of guest requirements, priorities, and departmental updates.
Ensure all housekeeping checklists and reports are accurately completed by team members before the end of each shift.
Assist in overseeing the cleanliness, organisation and stock levels of housekeeping storerooms and departmental areas.
Support the training, mentoring and development of team members, promoting a positive and high-performance working culture.
Work collaboratively with other departments to ensure smooth daily operations and to meet guest requests, special requirements and event needs.
Liaise with the Maintenance Department to report and follow up on any maintenance issues affecting guest comfort or safety.
Ensure compliance with all health, safety and hygiene standards, contributing to a safe and professional working environment.
Act as a point of contact in the absence of the Accommodation Manager, as required.
REQUIREMENTS
A minimum of 2 years' experience in a supervisory or assistant management role within a Housekeeping or Accommodation Department.
Demonstrated ability to support and motivate a team to achieve high service and presentation standards.
Strong organisational and time-management skills, with attention to detail.
Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with a hands-on and team-focused approach.
A proactive attitude, strong problem-solving skills and a commitment to delivering exceptional guest experiences.
