About the Role

As an Assistant Accountant, you will support financial operations across reporting, reconciliations, compliance, and client accounting services within a fast-paced professional environment.

Key Responsibilities

Financial & Accounting Support

Assist in preparing financial statements and management reports

Support month-end and year-end closing processes

Prepare journal entries and general ledger reconciliations

Assist with BAS preparation and tax compliance work

Accounts Processing

Process invoices, receipts, and payments

Manage accounts payable and accounts receivable tasks

Perform bank and credit card reconciliations

Maintain accurate records in accounting systems (Xero, MYOB, or similar)

Reporting & Analysis

Assist in preparing profit and loss statements and balance sheets

Support budgeting and forecasting activities

Help with financial analysis and data entry tasks

Client & Team Support

Communicate with clients regarding missing documents or queries

Support accountants and client managers in daily operations

Ensure compliance with Australian accounting standards (AASB)

Administrative Duties

Maintain accounting files and documentation

Assist with audit preparation

Support payroll processing where required

What We’re Looking For?

Degree in Accounting, Finance, or Business (or currently studying CPA/CA)

0–2+ years experience in accounting or internships

Knowledge of Xero, MYOB, or similar systems

Strong Excel skills

High attention to detail and accuracy

Good communication and teamwork skills

Willingness to work in a fast-paced professional services environment

Pay: From $6,000.00 per month
