Assistant Accounting Manager

An Assistant Accounting Manager – Sales Accounting is responsible for overseeing financial transactions related to sales, ensuring accurate revenue reporting, and supporting compliance with accounting standards. Their key responsibilities typically include:

Sales Accounting & Revenue Management

  • Oversee the recording and reconciliation of daily sales transactions from multiple retail branches or online platforms.
  • Ensure the accuracy of sales reports, revenue recognition, and proper allocation of discounts, refunds, and promotions.
  • Monitor cash, credit card, digital payment, and installment transactions for discrepancies.
  • Verify and reconcile sales deposits against bank statements and point-of-sale (POS) system reports.

Accounts Reconciliation & Financial Reporting

  • Assist in preparing monthly, quarterly, and annual sales revenue reports.
  • Reconcile accounts related to sales revenue, accounts receivable, and payment discrepancies.
  • Ensure proper documentation and recording of revenue adjustments, chargebacks, and credit notes.
  • Prepare reports on sales trends, cash flow, and financial performance for management review.

Compliance & Audit Support

  • Ensure compliance with financial regulations, tax laws (e.g., VAT, sales tax), and company accounting policies.
  • Support external and internal audits by preparing and providing sales-related financial records.
  • Implement and monitor internal controls to prevent fraud, errors, and revenue leakage.

Process Improvement & Team Coordination

  • Assist in developing and improving sales accounting policies and procedures to enhance efficiency.
  • Coordinate with sales, operations, and finance teams to resolve discrepancies in sales transactions.
  • Train and mentor junior accounting staff handling sales transactions.

Deadline & Reporting Compliance

  • Ensure timely submission of sales financial reports to management and regulatory agencies.
  • Monitor and enforce compliance with reporting deadlines and financial closing schedules.

QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Graduate of a Bachelor’s degree in Accountancy.
  • At least 5 years of experience in accounting, with a focus on sales accounting, revenue reconciliation, or financial reporting.
  • Preferably with 2+ years of supervisory or assistant managerial experience in a retail company.
  • Strong background in sales transactions, revenue accounting, and taxation (VAT, sales tax, etc.).
  • Must be willing to work in Quezon City
