FUNCTION OF THE DEPARTMENT & MAIN PURPOSE OF THE JOB
The position’s main purpose is to verify the completeness and accuracy of all financial documents prior to approval; oversee the timely collection of Accounts Receivable; ensure compliance with Bureau of Internal Revenue (BIR) regulations through timely tax filings, payments, and management of Letters of Authority (LOAs); and recommend process improvements to strengthen tax compliance. The role also manages revolving funds, supports period-end closing activities, maintains the assigned general and subsidiary ledgers, and develops financial performance measures that guide strategic business decisions.
DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES
- Verify the completeness and accuracy of all supporting financial documents and entries (e.g. invoices, official receipts, and credit memos) prior to approval.
- Oversee the timely collection of Accounts Receivable (AR) through constant review of AR Aging Report.
- Collaborates with key sales personnel to resolve accounts receivable and payments issues
- Ensure compliance with the Bureau of Internal Revenue (BIR), including timely submission of tax filings, payments, and management of Letters of Authority (LOAs).
- Resolve tax and compliance-related concerns, ensuring all external regulatory requirements are met.
- Propose process enhancements to ensure tax compliance, mitigate deficiencies, and improve financial status and cash flow.
- Manage and ensure the timely replenishment of revolving funds.
- Support month-end, quarter-end, and year-end close processes.
- Direct and contribute to the maintenance of general and subsidiary ledgers
- Develop and monitor performance measures that support the company's strategic decisions.
Education:
- Bachelor’s degree in Accountancy
- Certified Public Accountant (CPA) license is required.
- Business Course / IT related courses will be a PLUS.
Qualifications:
- Minimum of 7 years of progressive experience in accounting and finance, with at least 2 years in a supervisory or managerial role.
- Proven experience in BIR compliance, tax filing, and audit coordination (LOAs).
- Strong background in Accounts Receivable management, general ledger maintenance, and financial reporting.
- Experience in period-end closing activities and profitability or segment reporting is preferred.
- Strong background in Netsuite / ERP systems
- Able to generate queries, reports and able to do dashboards in Netsuite
Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:
- In-depth knowledge of Philippine taxation laws and BIR regulations.
- Solid understanding of accounting standards (PFRS/IFRS) and internal control procedures.
- Proficiency in accounting systems (e.g., NetSuite, SAP, QuickBooks, or similar ERP).
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to interpret financial data for decision-making.
- High attention to detail and accuracy in financial documentation.
- Excellent leadership, communication, and coordination skills, with the ability to manage cross-functional collaboration.
- Demonstrated capability to streamline processes and recommend efficiency improvements in tax and compliance workflows.
