Assistant General Manager

Duties

• Assist the General Manager in overseeing daily restaurant operations, including food preparation, service flow, and staff coordination
• Supervise and train team members on food handling, customer service, POS systems (Aloha POS and Micros POS), and safety protocols
• Manage inventory control procedures to ensure optimal stock levels while minimizing waste
• Oversee cash handling processes, including shift reconciliations and deposit preparations
• Support kitchen management by supervising food production, ensuring quality standards are met, and maintaining cleanliness and safety compliance
• Lead staff recruitment efforts through interviewing candidates and participating in hiring decisions
• Implement training & development programs to enhance team skills in food preparation, culinary techniques, and hospitality standards
• Monitor shift management activities to ensure efficient service delivery during busy periods
• Enforce food safety regulations and maintain compliance with health department standards
• Assist with budgeting responsibilities to control costs related to food, labor, and supplies
• Foster a positive work environment that promotes teamwork, accountability, and high morale

Qualifications

• Proven experience in restaurant management or supervisory roles within the food industry
• Strong background in food preparation, cooking techniques, and kitchen management
• Familiarity with POS systems such as Aloha POS and Micros POS for order processing and sales tracking
• Demonstrated skills in inventory control, cash handling, and food safety practices
• Experience working in quick service & fast food restaurants as well as casual dining or fine dining environments is highly desirable
• Excellent leadership abilities with a focus on staff training & development and team management
• Ability to handle multiple priorities efficiently during shift management periods
• Exceptional customer service skills with a passion for hospitality excellence
• Knowledge of budgeting processes and food cost control strategies
• Previous assistant manager experience is preferred but not required; leadership potential is essential
