Assistant General Manager (Agm)

Position Summary:

The Assistant General Manager (AGM) at Studio 6 plays a critical leadership role in supporting the daily operations of the property. This position ensures that guests receive clean, safe, and affordable accommodations while helping manage staff, uphold company standards, and drive profitability. The AGM acts as the second-in-command and may assume full management responsibilities in the absence of the General Manager.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Assist the General Manager in overseeing all front desk, housekeeping, maintenance, and guest service operations.
  • Help recruit, train, and supervise staff to ensure efficient and friendly service delivery.
  • Monitor daily revenue, occupancy, and expenses to support budgetary goals.
  • Conduct regular property inspections to ensure cleanliness, safety, and maintenance standards are met.
  • Support inventory and supply ordering to maintain adequate stock levels for daily operations.
  • Address guest concerns and complaints promptly, professionally, and with a focus on resolution.
  • Enforce all company policies, procedures, and brand standards to ensure operational compliance.
  • Assist with scheduling, payroll, and employee performance evaluations.
  • Maintain a strong presence on the floor and ensure 24/7 coverage for guest needs.
  • Support implementation of local marketing initiatives to increase occupancy and revenue.
  • Step into the role of Acting General Manager when required.

Qualifications:

  • Minimum 1–2 years of hotel management or supervisory experience, preferably in economy or extended stay lodging.
  • High school diploma or equivalent required; hospitality or business-related education is a plus.
  • Strong leadership, interpersonal, and organizational skills.
  • Ability to work flexible hours including weekends, holidays, and on-call shifts.
  • Proficiency in basic computer programs, PMS systems, and Microsoft Office.
  • Bilingual (English/Spanish) is a plus.

Work Environment & Expectations:

  • Must be able to stand, walk, and move freely around the property for extended periods.
  • Must be comfortable addressing maintenance or housekeeping needs directly when short-staffed.
  • Requires attention to detail, strong problem-solving skills, and a hands-on attitude.
  • This role is key to maintaining the reputation and day-to-day function of the hotel.

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: $40,000.00 - $45,000.00 per year
