Assistant General Manager / Events Manager

Summary:

The Guild is looking for a driven, hospitality-minded leader to join our management team in a dual role as Assistant General Manager and Private Events Manager. This position is equal parts sales, operations, and guest experience. You’ll own our private events program from first inquiry through execution, while also serving as a key leader on the daytime FOH floor, supporting the General Manager in day-to-day operations and team development.

Responsibilities:

Private Events

  • Respond to all private event inquiries promptly and professionally
  • Qualify, propose, and close bookings for private dining, buyouts, and hosted events
  • Coordinate all event details: menus, timelines, staffing, and room setup
  • Execute events personally or train and delegate to a qualified event lead
  • Maintain event contracts, deposits, and documentation
  • Build and grow relationships with repeat clients and corporate accounts

FOH Management (25+ hrs/week)

  • Lead daytime FOH operations with a focus on guest experience and team performance
  • Open and/or close the restaurant; manage service flow and resolve guest issues
  • Support the GM in daily operational decisions and communication
  • Hold pre-shift meetings, enforce service standards, and coach team members

Team Leadership

  • Assist in hiring, onboarding, and training FOH staff
  • Identify development opportunities and provide ongoing feedback
  • Foster a positive, accountable team culture aligned with The Guild’s values

Requirements:

  • 2+ years of restaurant management AND private event management experience, preferably in a full-service or upscale casual environment
  • Demonstrated experience coordinating or executing private events
  • Strong interpersonal and sales skills; comfortable following up, closing, and building relationships
  • Organized and detail-oriented with the ability to juggle multiple events and operational priorities
  • Collaborative leadership style with a genuine interest in developing others
  • Flexible availability, including evenings and weekends as needed for events
  • Food Handler’s Manager Certification and BASSET certification (or willingness to obtain)

Pay: $40,000.00 - $55,000.00 per year
