Job Summary
Maxime’s is seeking a motivated and experienced Assistant General Manager to support the overall operations of our esteemed establishment. The ideal candidate will have a passion for the hospitality industry and a commitment to delivering outstanding service. This role requires strong leadership skills, excellent communication abilities, and a focus on enhancing the dining experience for our guests, with the ability to create a positive work culture focused on guest retention and satisfaction.
Key Responsibilities
- Operations Management: Assist the General Manager in overseeing daily operations, ensuring that all aspects of the restaurant run smoothly and efficiently. This position would closing the restaurant 4-5 times a week, ensuring that all closing procedures are followed accurately and efficiently.
- Team Leadership: Supervise, train, and mentor staff, fostering a positive and productive work environment. Participate in staff scheduling and performance evaluations. Enforce steps of service are followed diligently while assisting with coaching and disciplinary action.
- Guest Relations: Promote exceptional guest experiences by addressing concerns and feedback in a timely and professional manner. Respond to both positive and negative guest reviews on all platforms, facilitating recovery as needed.
- Inventory Management: Utilize BarMetrix to review and troubleshoot bar inventory in collaboration with the bar team. Submit weekly LWB (liquor, wine, beer) orders through Wisk and maintain proper par levels for all LWB products.
- Financial Management: Assist in managing the restaurant’s financial aspects, including inventory management, cost control, and sales analysis to achieve budgeted targets. Ensure that costs agreed upon by suppliers are being billed accurately on a weekly basis, with any variances addressed immediately and corrected.
- POS Management: Maintain the Silverware POS database, ensuring that all data is accurate and up to date. Track voids, discounts, and bottle variances on a daily basis, while ensuring staff are accurately punching in menu items ensuring BarMetrix reports are pulling accurate information.
Qualifications
- Previous experience in a supervisory or management role within a restaurant or hospitality setting is required.
- Strong understanding of restaurant operations, including front-of-house and back-of-house processes.
- Excellent leadership and team management skills, with the ability to motivate and develop staff.
- Exceptional interpersonal and communication skills, with a customer-focused mindset.
- Proficiency in using restaurant management software, POS systems (especially Silverware), and reservation systems (OpenTable).
- Ability to work flexible hours, including evenings, weekends, and holidays as needed.
- Culinary knowledge and a passion for food and beverage trends are an asset.
