Assistant Groups & Events Manager

We are looking for Assistant Groups & Events Manager to join our iconic Mandarin Oriental Palace, Lucerne!

The legendary Hotel Palace Luzern first opened in 1906 and is in the city on the shores of Lake Lucerne. After a complete renovation, the Mandarin Oriental Palace, Luzern reopened its doors in September 2022. It comprises 136 rooms and suites offering excellent views over the lake and mountains. Three restaurants, one bar together with a variety of meeting facilities, a Spa and a fitness room roundup our offer for our Guests.

As Assistant Groups & Events Manager you will be responsible for the following tasks:

• Acting as the Deputy to the Groups and Events Manager
• Coordinating closely with all relevant hotel departments to ensure seamless event execution
• Managing tasks from initial request through to proposal preparation, price negotiation, contract creation, and final invoice control
• Committed to maximizing sales opportunities for meetings and conferences
• Preparing the "function sheet" (service order) and communicating the details to operational departments during the "BEO" (Banquet Event Order) and group meetings
• Achieving departmental goals and implementing Mandarin Oriental's quality standards

As Assistant Groups & Events Manager we are looking for:

• Experience in at least one year in a similar role within the Groups & Events department in an upscale hotel
• Demonstrate problem solving skills and ability to handle conflict situations
• Organizational talent with a high level of comprehension
• Open minded character with good communication skills, diligence and commitment
• Well-mannered and strong communication skills towards guests, customers, and colleagues
• Good computer skills
• Excellent language skills English, German language is desirable but not mandatory
