Duty Manager - Administration at Hyatt House South Melbourne
An exciting pre-opening opportunity exists for a Duty Manager to join our team at Hyatt House South Melbourne. This role offers the unique chance to be part of launching the Hyatt House brand in Australia, with the hotel scheduled to open at the beginning of 2025. Based on site in South Melbourne, the Duty Manager - Administration is a vital role within the Front Office Team, responsible for overseeing hotel operations, whilst ensuring all guests’ requests are met efficiently and seamlessly by creating memorable experiences
Managing and working within a team, you will support the Assistant Rooms Manager and General Manager in supervising and managing the day-to-day operations as well as supporting the team to achieve our purpose.
- Assist with setting up the Rooms division during pre-opening
- Supervision and Support of the Front Office team, ensuring exceptional and efficient service is delivered at all times
- Assist the Assistant Rooms Manager in creating departmental policies and procedures, implementing Hyatt brand standards and ensuring all are upheld in the ongoing operation
- Assist in managing upsell targets, promotions and events to maximise revenue
- Lead the hotel in the absence of senior staff, responding to guest enquiries hotel wide
- Oversee our elite and VIP guests, creating effortless and unique experiences
- Respond to emergencies within the hotel, acting as Chief Warden and First Aid Officer
- Previous experience working in a Front Office Team as a Team Leader or Supervisor within a upmarket or lifestyle hotel environment
Qualifications
Your background:
To be successful in this role you will require the following attributes:
- Excellent time management skills with the ability to multi-task and keep calm under pressure
- Strong leadership skills with the ability to mentor, coach, and motivate your team members
- The flexibility to work on a rotating roster, including weekends and public holidays
- Exceptional interpersonal and communication skills along with strong service recovery skills
- Responsible Service of Alcohol (RSA) Certificate
- Full Australian Driver’s License (international driver’s license may be considered)
