Job Description:

Responsible for managing and controlling production, schedules, budgets, quality, and safety objectives for additive/composites/plastics fabrication. Supervisor must demonstrate strong leadership and managerial skills to lead several tasks simultaneously to achieve on-time delivery. Supervisor must possess significant level of expertise pertaining to mechanical modifications, PDM maintenance, repair/overhaul and assembly techniques.

Essential Functions:

• Facilitate self-directed work teams, provide training in core skill areas to team members and peers, and interact with internal and external customers with respect to product planning, problem resolution, and process improvement
• Support production and all related processes in a team-based manufacturing environment
• Assist in the development of performance metrics in key areas, such as COPQ and DKHR
• Analyze such metrics and be able to identify trends and provide corrective action when applicable
• Perform activities in a variety of cross-functional areas including total quality management, manufacturing systems, material management and process re-engineering
• Must be a self-starter and motivated.
• Ability to obtain and maintain a US government issued security clearance.
• Must support other duties assigned by manager
• Provides input on hiring, firing, promotion, performance and/or compensation decisions for direct report(s).
• Must possess good interpersonal skills and have the ability to coordinate with other functional groups and support organizational objectives.
• Supervises individual(s) typically consisting of support level employees.
• Provides day-to-day work direction for direct report(s), focuses on maintaining steady workflow and productivity and resolving operational decisions.
• Communicates with parties within and outside of own team, which may include customers or vendors.
• Explains and interprets policies, practices and procedures of the area of responsibility to others within the organization.
• Plans and establishes operational objectives for a team within a clearly defined job area.
• Delivers operational results that have some impact on the achievement of departmental results. Assigns tasks to a team to achieve operational targets, service standards, etc.

Qualifications:

• Bachelor’s Degree with a minimum 6 years prior relevant experience. Graduate Degree with a minimum of 4 years of prior related experience. In lieu of a degree, minimum of 10 years of prior related experience.
• Must be flexible to work off shifts and overtime including weekend work.
• Must be a US Citizen.

Preferred Additional Skills:

• Knowledge of and planning for depot-level maintenance and baseline modifications on various airframes.
• Good understanding of Industry standards such as ISO9001:2015, AS9100, AS9145, etc.
• Knowledge of USAF and DCMA Program Requirements (DLAM 8210).
• Active security clearance preferred.
• Able to improve/streamline current procedures and processes
• Candidates that possess a strong aptitude in aircraft troubleshooting pertaining to airframe, structures, hydraulics, pneumatics and major component repairs/replacements
• Prior experience supervising, or managing Union employees.
• Excellent oral, written and computer skills with Microsoft Office suite, with heavy emphasis on Excel.
• Working knowledge of mechanical modifications and assemblies.
• Must be proficient in navigating schematics and maintenance manuals as required.
• Must be technically proficient within a repair and overhaul related field.
