Athena Billing Specialist (Athenaone + Ecr) | Remote (Ph) | Us Healthcare

About the role
We’re hiring an experienced US Medical Biller with strong AthenaOne billing skills to support a multi-state medical practice. This role focuses on end-to-end billing in Athena Enhanced Claim Resolution (ECR)—from pre-claim/charge review through denials and patient balances. Telehealth billing exposure is a plus.

This is a work-from-home opportunity.

This is a full-time position, 30-40 hrs a week

The rate is $7-$9 an hour or Php 65,000 - 90,000 per month

Key Responsibilities

• Prepare billing data and create/submit claims in Athena
• Work Athena billing workqueues/dashboards (claim holds, denials, follow-ups)
• Resolve claim issues: eligibility/COB, authorization, modifiers, coding edits, payer reprocessing, resubmissions/appeals
• Handle payment posting support and resolve payments that can’t be posted cleanly
• Manage patient balances/collections based on aging workflow
• Ensure pre-visit billing readiness (eligibility, authorizations as needed)
• Maintain clear documentation and notes in Athena

Requirements

• 1+ year hands-on Athena billing experience (AthenaOne billing; ECR strongly preferred)
• 3+ Full RCM experience
• Solid knowledge of US medical billing: claims, denials, AR follow-up, ERAs/EOBs, payer portals
• Familiarity with ICD-10/CPT/HCPCS/modifiers (not a coding role, but must catch issues)
• Comfortable communicating with payers/patients as needed
• Detail-oriented, organized, able to work independently

Nice to Have

• Provider credentialing / payer enrollment experience (CAQH, Availity, payer portals)
• Telehealth billing experience across commercial plans and Medicaid/Medicare
