The Moriarty Group is an Irish owned company involved in both the Retail Grocery and Hospitality Industries. The company’s portfolio currently comprises of three large Super Valu Supermarkets in Balbriggan and Skerries in North County Dublin and Palmerstown, Dublin 20. The company also owns two 4* Hotels, the Bracken Court Hotel, Balbriggan, North County Dublin and the Courtyard Hotel, Leixlip, Co. Kildare. The company currently employee’s approximately 550 people.

The Moriarty Group of Super Valu's are 3 of the largest Super Valu stores in the Dublin area. We are currently seeking to recruit an experienced Baker Chargehand for our Balbriggan store.

The Role:

This a full-time positions working an average of 42.5 hours per week, 5 shifts over 7 to include weekends and public holidays. The successful candidate will manage and work with our in-store bakery team preparing breads, cakes and pastries for our in-store fresh foods range.

Main Duties:

  • Day to day management of our busy in-store bakery department.
  • Managing a team of up to 5/6 people including bakers and counter hands.
  • Work with the bakery team on ensuring the smooth day to day running of the department.
  • Baking of Novelty Cakes, cakes (butter/fresh cream) Small Cakes and bread range.
  • HACCP duties.
  • Food preparation.
  • Menu/product development.
  • Waste management.
  • Department financials.
  • Providing a high level of customer service at all times.

Requirements:

  • Must have at least 2/3 years’ experience as a Baker Chargehand/Head Baker. (preferably within a bakery producing a high volume of product).
  • Must be HACCP trained.
  • Must be fluent in the English Language both written and spoken.
  • Must be enthusiastic about the department.
  • Must be able to multi-task and be willing to help out where required in all areas of the bakery dept.
  • Excellent communications skills.
  • Excellent people management skills.
  • Ability to train and develop staff.
  • Must be able to work as part of a team and on own initiative.
  • Must be available for early starts and late finishes (if required).

Salary: €36,000-€40,000ps DOE.
