Barista

Hourglass is a family run business in Perth since March 2023, and continues to grow. We are excited to find our next team member. Someone who is looking to grow the business with us. Not only will you join a coffee shop with the most wonderful customers, you will join our Hourglass family.

Main Duties;

Preparing and serving hot and cold drinks such as coffee, tea, and speciality beverages.

Taking orders, preparing and serving a range of breakfast and lunch items to our customers.

Receiving and processing customer payments via credit/debit card and cash.

Cleaning and sanitising kitchen work areas and equipment.

Cleaning and sanitising customer service and seating areas, and washrooms.

Ordering, receiving and distributing stock supplies

You will need to show some previous experience as waiter/waitress, front of house, restaurant, coffee shop or café experience. Ideally you will have experience or be willing to learn how to bake and cook the food we offer. We will even teach you to bake our famous scones!

You will possess:

A happy, friendly personality, who is ready to listen to our customers.

Positive and approachable manner.

Great communication skills.

Excellent customer service skills and knowledge, and enthusiasm to further develop a range of skills and knowledge, both front of house and behind the scenes.

High level of attention-to-detail

Flexible and adaptable to change.

Willing to embrace new ideas and processes.

Ability to work unsupervised and deliver quality work, as well as work as a team.

Hours are negotiable, but currently seeking an individual available for three days a week, including alternate Saturdays. Rate of pay is $20 per hour, plus tips.
