Barista/Customer Service

Overview
We are seeking a dedicated and enthusiastic Barista/Customer Service Representative to join our team. In this role, you will be the first point of contact for our customers, providing exceptional service and support. You will assist with inquiries, process transactions, make beverages, serve customers and clear and clean with additional duties added as required by the position while ensuring a positive experience for all patrons. The ideal candidate will possess strong communication skills and a passion for helping others.

Responsibilities

• Greet customers warmly and assist them with their inquiries or concerns.
• Process transactions accurately using the POS system, including cash handling and cashiering duties.
• Maintain knowledge of food safety and food handling procedures to ensure compliance with health regulations.
• Make beverages to order, and to specification standard and clients wishes
• Assist in food preparation and service as needed, ensuring quality standards are met.
• Manage time effectively to handle multiple tasks efficiently during peak hours.
• Provide support to team members and contribute to a positive work environment.
• Address customer complaints or issues with empathy and professionalism, escalating when necessary.

Qualifications

• Previous experience in customer service or food service is preferred but not required.
• Barista experience in similar cafe atmosphere strongly preferred.
• Strong time management skills to prioritize tasks effectively in a fast-paced environment.
• Basic math skills for accurate cash handling and transaction processing.
• Knowledge of food safety practices is a plus.
• Ability to work collaboratively as part of a team while also being self-motivated.
• Excellent communication skills with a friendly demeanor towards customers.
• Willingness to learn new processes and adapt to changing situations in the workplace.

Job Types: Part-time, Permanent

Pay: From $17.20 per hour

Expected hours: 20 – 25 per week
