Bar/Restaurant Supervisor

Job Title: Bar & Restaurant Supervisor
Reports To: General Manager
Location: Clancys Bar Cork

Job Summary:

The Bar and Restaurant Supervisor oversees daily operations in both the bar and restaurant areas, ensuring a seamless and exceptional customer experience. This role involves managing staff, coordinating between the kitchen and front-of-house, and ensuring operational efficiency. The ideal candidate will possess strong leadership skills, in-depth knowledge of food and beverage services, and a passion for hospitality.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Supervise daily bar and restaurant operations to ensure quality service and cleanliness standards.
  • Assist with opening and closing procedures, including cash handling and shift reports.
  • Support and guide servers, hosts, and other front-of-house staff to ensure optimal performance.
  • Handle customer inquiries, concerns, and complaints professionally and promptly.
  • Monitor bar and dining areas to ensure proper setup, cleanliness, and ambiance.
  • Enforce health, safety, and hygiene standards in the bar and restaurant.
  • Assist in training new staff and ensuring adherence to service protocols.
  • Manage reservations, waitlists, and table assignments using booking systems.
  • Collaborate with kitchen staff to ensure timely and accurate food delivery.
  • Monitor inventory and order supplies when necessary.
  • Promote up-selling and recommend specials or promotions to guests.
  • Report operational issues, staff concerns, and customer feedback to management.

Qualifications:

  • Proven experience in a supervisory or leadership role in a bar/restaurant or hospitality setting.
  • Strong leadership, communication, and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to handle high-pressure situations in a fast-paced environment.
  • Knowledge of bar and restaurant systems, food safety standards, and service protocols.
  • Flexible availability, including evenings, weekends, and holidays.
  • Hospitality-related degree is a plus.

Preferred Skills:

  • Conflict resolution and problem-solving abilities.
  • Attention to detail and commitment to quality service.
  • Basic understanding of budgeting and cost control is an advantage.
  • Team work skills

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: €30,000.00-€35,000.00 per year
