Job Description

SCOPE OF POSITION:

Responsible for all general Human Resources (HR) administrative functions that require bi-lingual (English and Spanish) assistance relating to recruitment, training and employment to ensure that all necessary functions are completed in a timely and organized manner.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

The following is a list of the main duties and responsibilities. However, other duties may be assigned as deemed necessary by management. All duties must be performed in accordance with Tribal, Federal, and other applicable requirements, organizational specific policies, procedures, and practices.

  • Conducts initial screening and interview of new and Spanish-speaking applicants to ensure they are qualified for the position(s) for which they are applying.
  • Convey the company’s service culture and objectives to prospective and Spanish-speaking candidates.
  • Coordinates and manages interview schedules through entire hiring process as applicable.
  • Coordinates the processing of all applicant onboarding related documents including but not limited to tax forms, direct deposit form, etc.
  • Assists internal transfer process for assigned departments and Spanish-speaking Team Members.
  • Provide counsel to business partners with respect to company recruiting policies and practices, as well as government regulations, and translation for Spanish-speaking Team Members as needed.
  • Act as a liaison as needed for the NHBP Gaming Commission to ensure Spanish-speaking applicant compliance to obtain gaming licensure.
  • Works within the FireKeepers Casino Hotels applicant tracking system (ATS) as needed
  • Source candidates by maintaining a pipeline and network of talent with an emphasis on assisting Spanish-speaking applicants.
  • Directs and assists Spanish-speaking Team Member inquiries on HR issues to appropriate area and assists with translation as needed.
  • Provides Spanish-speaking new hires with initial training schedule, required documents, and has an ability to answer and address their questions or concerns.
  • Assists new Spanish-speaking Team Members in understanding and completing required new hire trainings in order to achieve goals for customer satisfaction, safety, quality, productivity, work performance, and success.
  • Facilitates the new hire and all relevant training of Spanish-speaking Team Members, using the approved modules.
  • Partners with Risk & Safety to ensure Spanish speaking safety training is completed and retained, with appropriate follow-up as needed.
  • Ensures relevant documentation is translated into Spanish as needed.
  • Meets with new Spanish-speaking Team Members within the onboarding period to ensure retention and engagement while in training.
  • Coordinates the scheduling of Spanish-speaking Team Members for designated departments, and coordinates assignments with department staff.
  • Provides translation services as needed for both Team Member and Management.
  • Maintains inventory of accurate Spanish-speaking training program materials.
  • Maintains the highest level of confidentiality.
  • Responsible for maintaining a consistent, regular attendance record as outlined in the FireKeepers Casino Hotel Attendance Policy.
  • Outstanding example of and a credit to FireKeepers Casino Hotel.

MINIMUM REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS

An applicant’s education, training, and experience must be sufficient to demonstrate that the applicant can successfully perform each of the essential duties and responsibilities satisfactorily. Proficiency in both written and verbal English and Spanish communication is required.

High School diploma or G.E.D., Strong organizational and interpersonal skills. One year or more of Human Resources experience, which must include training or recruitment responsibilities. Must have experience tracking data and building reports. Proficient in Microsoft Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and/or similar presentation software. Must be able to role model our brand and FireKeepers Casino Hotel Service Culture (WEEA). Must have an active pulse on industry trends and retention methods. Must possess a valid state-issued driver’s license with a good driving record. Must be at least 21 years of age.

GENERAL OR PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS

Associate's degree or equivalent from a two-year college or technical school with four years of recruiting and training experience.

LANGUAGE SKILLS

Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals in both English and Spanish. Ability to write routine reports and correspondence. Ability to speak effectively before groups of customers or Team Members within the organization in both English and Spanish.

MATHEMATICAL SKILLS

Ability to add, subtract, multiply, and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals, and work with mathematical operations such as probability and statistical inference.

REASONING ABILITY

Ability to define problems, collect data, establish facts, and draw conclusions. Ability to interpret an extensive variety of technical instructions in mathematical or diagram form and deal with several abstract and concrete variables.

Work is performed throughout all areas of the facility, where the noise level varies from quiet to loud depending on the business.
