For Biologics R&D, the Bioinformatics team in Basel is offering an exciting internship in exploring Machine Learning models in a cloud environment. The role involves hands-on work at the intersection of bioinformatics, machine learning, and cloud computing, providing valuable experience in applying advanced technologies to biological data analysis.

Duration: 6-12 months

Key responsibilities:

• Collaborate with Bioinformatics team to define requirements and challenges of deploying ML models in a cloud environment
• Assist in designing, implementing and optimizing MLOps workflows
• Help automate model training, testing, deployment and monitoring processes to enhance efficiency and reliability
• Learn and share on the latest MLOps practices, tools and technologies in the cloud
• Assist in troubleshooting and resolving issues related to model deployment and operationalization

Key requirements:

• Bachelor's or Master's degree in Computer Science, Bioinformatics, Data Science, or a related field
• Solid understanding of machine learning
• Programming skills in common data analysis programming language (R, Python, …)
• Good problem-solving skills and ability to work in a fast-paced, collaborative environment
• Familiarity with cloud platforms, preferably Azure and experience with deploying models on the cloud
• Knowledge of software development principles: DevOps, CI/CD
• Fluent in English. German is an advantage
