Job description

Happy Lemon Mission Bay, San Francisco is seeking outgoing tea enthusiasts who love boba tea to join their team. Our bobaristas uphold our commitment to the highest quality and service, and focus on engaging with our customers and delivering joy with every interaction while keeping up daily store functions.

Please note, this role is a long-term position. We are NOT hiring for seasonal applicants.

As a Bobarista/Kitchen Associate, you will:

Deliver Quality Customer Service

  • Provide front of house support to baristas to greet customers and engage with them throughout their store experience.
  • Be a subject matter expert on how we make our products to answer customer inquiries about our drinks and ingredients.

Deliver Operational Excellence

  • Ensure all ingredients and teas meet food safety and quality standards.
  • Prepares drinks and related food items with consistent quality in a quick and efficient manner.
  • Prioritizes tasks effectively through assessing storefront and customer needs.
  • Proactively learns new and seasonal products to expand product knowledge.
  • Maintains a clean and well-stocked store.
  • Assist store manager with kitchen duties.

Key Responsibilities and Duties

  • Prepare drink and food orders for customers following the approved store recipes and production standards.
  • Enter orders accurately into the POS system and follow cash handling and register policies.
  • Replenish toppings fridge, tea canisters, and other general supplies needed to ensure smooth operations in the store.
  • Maintain a clean working environment by wiping all surfaces, clearing drink dishes, mopping the floor, and wiping storefront windows.
  • Serve customers quickly and efficiently, providing best-in-class customer service.
  • Be knowledgeable about 50+ drinks to educate customers and answer inquiries.
  • Review drink orders to ensure quality control prior to handing drinks to customers.
  • Assist with brewing teas, cooking boba, topping and ingredient preparation (e.g. slicing fruit), and other ad-hoc duties as assigned.
  • Build positive relationships with coworkers and customers.

The Ideal Candidate will:

  • Have previous experience working in boba tea shops or food service establishments.
  • Carry a friendly, personable demeanor and have a passion for great customer service.
  • Have excellent communication and guest service skills
  • Exhibit a strong focus on quality with strong attention to detail.
  • Be proactive in taking care of customer and store needs.
  • Be extremely reliable and punctual.
  • Be able to work with urgency, embrace and learn new information, multi-task and incorporate feedback into personal performance.
  • Enjoy working in a team-environment and building great relationships with their coworkers and customers.
  • Have the ability to perform various physical tasks during the work shift and be able to lift, carry and/or push objects weighing up to 30+ pounds.

Job Type: Part-time

Pay: $18.67 - $25.00 per hour

Expected hours: 3 – 20 per week
