Overview:
At ITrade Alberta Ltd. we are seeking a skilled bookkeeper / Office Administrator to join our team. In this role, you will manage essential financial duties, such as recording financial transactions, creating an internal coding system, and processing payroll. You will also be responsible for day to day operation of the office ensuring the workplace runs smoothly by providing support to employees and performing a variety of clerical tasks.

Duties
- Oversee daily office operations to ensure efficiency and effectiveness
- Maintain financial transaction records by establishing accounts, posting transactions, and ensuring legal compliance
- Prepare financial statements, such as ledgers, income statements, and balance sheets
- Keep financial records and establish, maintain and balance various accounts using manual and computerized bookkeeping systems
- Post journal entries and reconcile accounts, prepare trial balance of books, maintain general ledgers and prepare financial statements
- Calculate and prepare cheques for payrolls and for utility, tax and other bills
- Collect, analyze, and summarize data for tax forms according to local and federal mandates
- Assist with creating budgets, financial forecasts, and quarterly reports
- Prepare tax returns and perform other personal bookkeeping services
- Manage phone systems and ensure professional phone etiquette is maintained
- Develop training programs for new hires and ongoing staff development
- Assist with payroll processing and human resources tasks as needed
- Maintain accurate records and documentation for all administrative processes
- Coordinate schedules, meetings, and office events to enhance team collaboration
Education and Requirements:
- Two Years Diploma in Business Administration, Accounting, Finance or related field
- Minimum 2 Years experience in Customer Service, Office Administration or related field
- Previous bookkeeping experience (QuickBooks) preferred
Qualifications and Skills:
- Knowledge of and ability to learn essential accounting software
- Familiarity with spreadsheets, formulas, and data analysis tools
- A general understanding of the main accounting principles, such as accruals and revenue
- Strong attention to detail and level of accuracy
- Effective verbal and written communication skills
- Capable of spotting and resolving discrepancies
- Knowledge of relevant tax requirements and how to prepare basic tax documentation
- Strong understanding of office management procedures and best practices
- Familiarity with payroll systems and human resources functions is a plus
- Ability to multitask, prioritize responsibilities, and work independently as well as part of a team.
- Strong attention to detail with a commitment to maintaining high standards of quality.
