Job Summary
We are seeking a proactive and detail-oriented Bookkeeper/Office Manager to join our team on a part-time, remote basis. We would guess 75% involves bookkeeping for our marketing firm and 25% will involve office management/admin support. Knowledge and experience with Xero is required. The ideal candidate will be passionate about maintaining accurate financial records, managing day-to-day office tasks, and supporting organizational growth through meticulous attention to detail and excellent communication skills. Duties
- Manage all aspects of bookkeeping, including accounts payable and receivable, bank reconciliations, journal entries, and general ledger maintenance using accounting Xero. We use Melio for pay but it's easy to learn.
- Perform balance sheet reconciliation and account analysis to ensure accuracy and compliance with GAAP (Generally Accepted Accounting Principles)
- Prepare financial reports, statements, and summaries to support organizational decision-making and reporting requirements
- Payroll entry. We use ADP.
- Handle administrative office tasks such as scheduling, correspondence, and document management.
- Maintain accurate records of governmental filings, tax documentation, and audit support materials
- Experience with marketing firms/ad agencies is a plus but not required.
Skills
- Strong proficiency in Xero accounting software.
- Experience with double-entry bookkeeping, journal entries, account reconciliation (bank and general ledger), and account analysis
- Excellent organizational skills.
- Ability to perform bank reconciliations efficiently.
- Strong communication skills for financial report writing and collaboration across teams
- Attention to detail in account analysis and account reconciliation processes
- Capable of handling multiple tasks in a remote environment with minimal supervision
While the hours are part-time, we do need our ultimate hire to be available as needed for issues/question that may pop up during the day. It's rare that we have truly urgent needs but there are definitely situations where we have a question or task that needs to be handled relatively quickly.
