As we expand, we are seeking an experienced Bookkeeping Manager to lead bookkeeping operations, ensure high-quality client service, and mentor our growing team.

Job Overview

The Bookkeeping Manager will oversee day-to-day bookkeeping across a portfolio of clients, including system setup, reconciliations, payroll, and reporting. This role combines technical expertise with leadership, requiring both hands-on execution and oversight of junior bookkeepers. You will work closely with firm leadership, acting as a trusted partner to clients while driving accuracy, efficiency, and best practices.

Key Responsibilities

  • Manage full-cycle bookkeeping for multiple clients in diverse industries.
  • Oversee QuickBooks Online setup, payroll, and app integrations.
  • Perform catch-up and clean-up work for client databases as needed.
  • Reconcile bank, credit card, and other financial accounts.
  • Process accounts payable/receivable, invoices, and payroll accurately and on time.
  • Prepare trial balances, management reports, and financial statements.
  • Conduct month-end and quarterly reviews with clients.
  • Maintain strong client relationships through proactive communication.
  • Document processes and implement best practices for team use.
  • Review junior team members’ work, provide feedback, and support skill development.
  • Collaborate with the Head of Bookkeeping and Head of CFO Services on client deliverables.

Qualifications and Skills

  • Proven experience as a Senior Bookkeeper, Bookkeeping Manager, or similar role.
  • Accounting or business diploma/certificate (or equivalent experience).
  • Advanced proficiency in QuickBooks (Online and Desktop), QuickBooks Payroll, and related apps (Hubdoc, Dext, Wave).
  • Strong Excel and Microsoft Office/Google Workspace skills.
  • Demonstrated leadership skills, with experience training or mentoring others.
  • Excellent communication skills with a client-service mindset.
  • Highly organized, with the ability to manage multiple deadlines.
  • Tech-savvy, adaptable to new systems, and comfortable leveraging automation.

Compensation and Benefits

  • Yearly salary: $90,000–$ 115,000 base + bonus
  • Remote & flexible: Work from anywhere
  • Includes paid time off
