Mō te Tūranga | About the role

We’re looking for a talented copywriter to join ASB’s Brand & Marketing Practice as part of the content team.

This role plays an important part in shaping how ASB communicates with customers across a wide range of channels: from web and email through to advertising, social media and other customer communications.

You’ll help craft clear, engaging and on-brand copy that brings ASB’s products, services and stories to life. This includes translating complex financial or business topics into simple, compelling content that customers can easily understand and act on.

Working closely with marketers, designers, and digital teams, you’ll help turn strong creative ideas into impactful written content that improves the customer experience across our channels.

We’re also interested in hearing from people with a background in journalism – particularly those who enjoy turning complex topics into clear, engaging stories. Experience covering business, finance, or economics would be especially valuable, but not essential.

You’re a strong storyteller who knows how to balance creativity with clarity.

You might come from a marketing, agency or editorial background, or you could be a journalist looking to bring your writing skills into a brand environment.

Ideally you’ll bring:

  • Experience writing compelling, on brand copy across all marketing channels, with a proven portfolio of work
  • Exceptional written and verbal communication skills
  • The ability to translate complex information into customer friendly copy
  • Strong editorial judgement and attention to detail
  • Confidence using qualitative and quantitative insights to guide content decisions
  • An ability to stay calm under pressure, work on multiple projects at once and prioritise to meet deadlines
  • Attention to detail and a knack for creating engaging copy
  • Skilled at presenting ideas and copy effectively to stakeholders of different levels
  • Adaptable and agile, with a growth mindset
