Brandon Energy Efficiency Program (Beep) Carpenter Trainer

PURPOSE OF THE POSITION

The Carpenter Trainer reports to the Construction Manager and is responsible for planning and overseeing construction projects with the goal of providing a positive hands-on construction training opportunity to individuals who have previously experienced barriers to employment.

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS

Journeyman Carpenter preferred or equivalent experience as a Designated Trainer in an Apprentice Program.

Proven work experience in construction management.

Knowledge of all facets of construction process from building products, job costing, blueprints, construction details and relevant codes, rules, regulations and quality standards.

Must possess a valid Class 5 drivers license.

Certification required (or willingness to obtain): Fall protection, CPR, WHMIS.

Excellent time and project management skills to prioritize workload to meet competing demands.

Strong communication skills and respect for others.

Leadership and human resources management skills.

Effective conflict and crisis management skills.

2 years experience in construction project management and administration.

REMUNERATION

The Carpenter Training Manager is a 30-36.25 hours of work per week position that is paid at a range of $62,000 to $67,000.

ROLES and RESPONSIBILITIES

Provide hands on, classroom and on-site carpentry training.

Assessing training needs.

Evaluating/developing training effectiveness.

Maintaining shop, equipment and vehicles.

Support the overall operations of the BEEP Program.

Support construction leads.

Safety and compliance.

Quality Control and Inspection Support.
