Breakfast Server

Main duties and responsibilities:

  • Providing a smooth and first class breakfast experience for our diners, taking orders and serving food and drinks as required.
  • Ensuring preparation of the Restaurant by standard operating procedure at all times.
  • Dealing with guest queries in a friendly and efficient manner, ensuring best customer care and satisfaction.
  • To be an effective communicator with guests/clients and at all levels.
  • Pay attention to detail in all aspects of the customer journey.
  • Being aware of the business in the hotel and special events, to ensure proactive planning takes place to ensure delivery of exceptional guest service at all times.
  • Being aware and welcome VIP, repeat and priority guests as required.
  • Ensure a full meet & greet by all are adhered to.
  • Ensure all customers are responded promptly and effectively on complaints and points learned are used to enhance future customer service.
  • Always have correct mise-en-place done in a timely and thorough manner to be able to do efficient work and deliver excellent service on time.
  • Ensure dispensing orders accurately.
  • A thorough knowledge of F&B products which are on the menu, as well as daily special offers.
  • Ensure to receive any special guest request and communicate the information to the head chef.
  • Deliver high standards of cleanliness throughout the Dining Room, ground floor and the back of the property.
  • Ensure proper usage of cleaning supplies and accessories.
  • Ensure dirty linen is taken for the laundry and clean ones brought back to the outlet.
  • To support the Management team in the implementing and/or following of procedures concerning recording of stock movements e.g. correct charging of items, billing.
  • Ensure stock items in restaurant fridges etc always within expiry date/rotated accordingly.
  • Ensure accurate stock-takes are carried out according to company policy.
  • Proactively manage energy usage within the restaurant and work with management colleagues to make savings.
  • Continuously behave in a professionally and friendly manner during verbal as well as non-verbal communication with guests and co-workers.
  • Reporting on duty on time, clean and tidy, wearing the correct uniform to company standards.
  • Agreeing departmental objectives for self and the team.
  • Continually develop new knowledge and skills to ensure best practice service delivery.
  • Regularly review own performance against objectives through on the job training, appraisals, job chats and team meetings and where necessary taking corrective action.
  • High standard of personal hygiene and presentation
  • Ensure protection of business and professional confidentiality are performed at all times.

Overall Responsibility Areas:

  • Controlling and directing the food delivery process
  • Monitoring and controlling stock levels.
  • Ensuring correct stock rotation procedures are followed
  • Managing and working closely with other Departments of all levels
  • Determining food inventory needs, stocking and ordering
  • Being responsible for health and safety
  • Being responsible for food hygiene practices

Ensuring a healthy and safe environment

● Secure and maintain qualifications in food safety and first aid

● Ensure all health and safety regulations are met including reporting, regular monitoring of key controls and ensure all records are kept up to date

● To ensure that maintenance problems are promptly reported through the maintenance reporting system

● To be fully responsible for all food safety, including but not limited to all food alert procedures and protocols

● To ensure all correct supplier certification documents are obtained and kept up to date
