Catering Assistant

Summary of the Role:

As a Catering Assistant, you’ll play an essential role in providing high-quality, nutritious meals for residents while supporting kitchen operations. Your work ensures residents enjoy a comfortable and caring environment. This role is based in Adelaide’s western suburbs across our Residential Aged Care Facilities.

Here’s What a Typical Day in the Role Might Look Like:

  • Assisting with the preparation and serving of meals that meet residents’ dietary needs and preferences.
  • Collaborating with the kitchen team to maintain cleanliness and support daily operations.
  • Preparing freshly cooked meals and adapting menus for dietary requirements, allergies, and cultural or religious needs.
  • Ensuring food orders are completed within budget and on time.
  • Keeping up to date with residents' dietary needs to provide a personalised dining experience.
  • Working closely with the Chef Manager, Chef, and Cook to plan and deliver a healthy, balanced menu.

Shift Availability:

  • Afternoon shifts: 3:00 PM to 7:00 PM (multiple opportunities available).
  • Morning shifts: 7:00 AM to 2:30 PM (some shifts available).
  • Weekend shifts: Limited opportunities.

Compulsory Requirements to Be Considered for the Role:

  • A valid NDIS Worker Screening Check or proof of application.
  • Experience in aged care or a strong willingness to learn.
  • Full work rights in Australia.

What You’ll Bring:

  • A valid NDIS clearance or receipt of application.
  • Experience in aged care or a willingness to learn.
  • Certificate II in Hospitality or equivalent experience (desirable but not essential).
  • Ability to work effectively in a multi-disciplinary team.
  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills to connect with residents and colleagues.
